Orange Spiced Mule
This mule might be my favorite one yet — the spiced syrup really highlights and tones out the spiciness of the ginger beer, while the vanilla vodka gives it that extra layer of oomph.
Ingredients:
½ oz spiced syrup
½ oz lime juice
¾ oz orange juice
2 oz vanilla vodka
4-6 oz ginger beer
garnish: torched orange wedge + mint sprig + cinnamon stick
Directions:
In a copper mug, combine spiced syrup, lime juice, orange juice, and vanilla vodka. Stir to combine. Add ice and top with ginger beer. Garnish with orange wedge, mint sprig, and cinnamon stick.
SPICED SYRUP
Ingredients:
½ cup cane sugar
½ cup water
1 cinnamon stick
2 star anise
3 cloves
2 whole allspice
Directions:
In a small sauce pot, combine sugar, water, and warming spices. Bring pot to a simmer and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Once cooled, strain out the spices and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three weeks.
