Blue Coconut Mai Tai
This blue coconut mai tai is a little far from the authentic original, but I can’t pass up an opportunity to use blue curaçao in a tasteful way 😉 the color is seriously next level, and the fact that it tastes better than it looks is a bonus!
Ingredients:
½ oz orgeat
¾ oz lime juice
¾ oz blue curaçao
1½ oz coconut milk
1 oz coconut rum
1½ oz white rum
garnish: lime wheel + mint sprig + habanero sugar rim
Directions:
Rim a tall glass with habanero sugar. You can do this by painting on (with a silicone brush) a bit orgeat syrup or even agave syrup, and gently sprinkle the habanero sugar over the glass (over a plate so you don’t lose the excess). Set aside.
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously for approximately thirty seconds, until chilled. Strain into a tall glass over pebble ice. Garnish with lime wheel and mint sprig.
PSST! THIS IS THE STUFF I USED:
Did you know that you can purchase pebble ice from places like Chick-fil-A, Sonic, or 7-11?
