Amaretto Negroni

You know what I always say, “a negroni a day keeps the doctor away!” For legal purposes, I’m kidding, but I have such an obsession with Negronis and all variations of the drink. Did you know you can buy a book all about them?

Anyways, rant over — this holiday, almond-flavored cocktail will put you right in your feels. Cue the Christmas movies and the fireplace.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz amaretto

  • 1 oz sweet vermouth

  • 1 oz campari

  • garnish: sugared rosemary + star anise

Directions:

Add ingredients to a cocktail mixing glass with ice and stir for thirty seconds. Strain over fresh ice and garnish with star anise and sugared rosemary.

SUGARED ROSEMARY:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup white sugar, plus more for coating

  • ½ cup water

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar and water in a small sauce pan and heat on medium low until dissolved. Turn off heat and allow to cool to room temperature.

  2. Once the syrup has cooled, dip the rosemary sprig in the syrup and then coat with sugar.

  3. Set on a drying rack for a few hours. Store in a jar in the refrigerator.
