Tired of a traditional margarita? Not sure if that’s possible, but this is what you should be making on your next Taco Tuesday. Using the margarita as its base, we just switch up a few ingredients to make this the ultimate smokey, spicy, and citrusy refresher.
Ingredients:
1-2 jalapeno slices
2 dashes of orange bitters
¼ oz agave
¾ oz lemon juice
1 oz Cointreau
1½ oz mezcal
garnish: lemon peel
Directions:
In a cocktail shaker, combine jalapeño slices, bitters, agave, and lemon juice. Muddle to extract the spice from the jalapeño. Add Cointreau and mezcal. Add ice and shake vigorously until chilled. Strain over a large ice cube in a chilled rocks glass. Garnish with a lemon peel.
