Homemade Apple Cider
This homemade apple cider will leave your home smelling SO unbelievably good, and it’s perfect to serve up at your Thanksgiving get togethers because you can totally serve it with or without alcohol!
Ingredients:
10 apples (assorted), quartered
½ orange
½ cup brown sugar
6 whole allspice
8 cloves
2 star anise
2 cinnamon sticks
1 whole nutmeg
8 cups water
optional: bourbon or dark rum
Directions:
Put all of your ingredients (minus the booze) in a large dutch oven or pot and let them hang out for 4 hours on low heat.
Once your apples have softened and everything smells heavenly, smash everything and strain it (you’ll want to do this a few times depending on how smooth you’d like it to be).
To enjoy, serve warm with 2 ounces of your favorite alcohol (I prefer either bourbon or dark rum).
Garnish with an apple slice, cranberries, cinnamon stick, or whatever has got you feeling festive!
