Amaro Sour

What I love about this is the fact that you can use any amaro that you love. For mine, I used Amaro Montenegro, with flavors like orange zest, vanilla, coriander, and clove — which is perfect for a Christmas Day sipper. You could also use Amaro Nonino, Amaro Averna, or Cardamoro Amaro.

Ingredients:

  • ¾ oz orgeat

  • 1 oz lemon juice

  • 1 oz amaro

  • 1 oz rye whiskey

  • 1 egg white

  • garnish: candied pecan

Directions:

In a cocktail shaker, add orgeat, lemon juice, amaro, rye whiskey, and egg white. Shake without ice for thirty seconds. Add ice and shake again. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a candied pecan.
