Spooky Sangria

The thing I love about sangria is that you can be reasonably creative with it — this spooky riff on a red wine sangria comes together super easily (the hardest part is waiting for the ingredients to mingle in the fridge for a few hours).

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle 750ml red wine

  • ½ cup Chambord

  • 1 cup unsweetened cranberry juice

  • ½ cup blackberries

  • 1 cup moondrop black grapes

  • 1 plum, sliced

  • 8 allspice berries

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • ½ liter sparkling water, to serve*

Directions:

Combine the bottle of red wine, Chambord, cranberry juice, blackberries, grapes, and plums together in a pitcher or a punch bowl. Refrigerate for at least four hours, ideally up to twelve. To serve, pour sangria over fresh ice and leave room to top with sparkling water.
