Gimlet

Traditionally, the earliest variations of the Gimlet are equal parts of gin and fresh lime juice. However, with the increasing popularity of vodka in the 90s, we were introduced to the Gin Gimlet’s popular cousin: the Vodka Gimlet. There are many variations and additions to this cocktail today (mint and cucumber are common), but this simple cocktail has its time and place in my heart!

Ingredients:

  • ½ oz simple syrup

  • 2 oz dry gin

  • garnish: lime wheel

Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously for approximately thirty seconds, until chilled. Double strain into a coupe glass and grnish with a lime wheel.
