Averna Sour

It’s time for a super yummy rum sour! I love using Flor de Caña rum in a sour-style cocktail because it’s aged in small white oak bourbon barrels (and sealed with plantain leaves), not to mention at the base of a volcano! This cocktail is tart, strong, and herbal – so delish.

Ingredients:

  • ¾ oz sage syrup

  • ¾ oz lemon juice

  • ½ oz orange juice

  • 1 oz Averna

  • 1½ oz Flor de Caña 12 Year

  • 1 egg white

  • garnish: sage leaf

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake without ice. Add ice and shake again. Double strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a sage leaf.
