Orange Creamsicle Cocktail

I’m not sure when it was the last time I was at an ol’ fashioned shopping mall — but there is so much nostalgia associated with one. Take Orange Julius for example. Orange Julius, meet your boozy counterpart.

Ingredients:

  • ½ oz vanilla syrup

  • 1½ oz freshly squeezed orange juice

  • 1½ oz vodka

  • 1 egg white

  • garnish: dehydrated orange slice

Directions:

Combine vanilla syrup, orange juice, and vodka into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously for approximately thirty seconds, until chilled and a frothy head forms. Remove ice, add egg white, and shake again. Double strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a dehydrated orange slice.

VANILLA SYRUP

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup cane sugar

  • ½ cup water

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

Combine sugar, water, and vanilla extract into a medium sauce pan and bring to a simmer. Once sugar is dissolved, remove from heat. Once cooled, transfer syrup into an airtight container.  Store in the refrigerator for about three weeks.
