Martini

MARTINI GLASS (C&B) (DISCONTINUED)

Here’s a reason why the Martini is so iconic in the world of cocktails. Not only is it a symbol of sophistication, but it is thrillingly versatile, leaving so many variations to please everyone. Gin, vodka, wet, dry, dirty, perfect, olive, twist: if there were any time to be particular about a cocktail, this is the one!

It’s a bit of a mystery as to where the Martini came about. Some believe it originated from the Martinez during the gold rush, others think it derived from New York’s Randolph Martine. Regardless, it’s a cocktail that’s widely loved by many, including myself 😋

Ingredients:

  • 2½ oz good quality gin or vodka

  • 2-3 dashes bitters (i prefer yuzu, orange, something light & citrus-forward)

  • ½-¾ oz dry vermouth

  • garnish: lemon twist

Directions:

Add gin, bitters, and dry vermouth into a chilled cocktail mixing glass. Add ice and stir for approximately thirty seconds (proper dilution is key!). Strain into martini glass. Garnish with lemon twist (to express the aromatic oils, simply twist the lemon peel on top of the cocktail, and run the outside of the citrus along the rim of the glass. You can even run the twist along the stem, too!).
