Holiday Sangria

This is basically mulled wine in sangria form… So sign me up for an entire pitcher of this because it’s so cozy, bright, delicious (and not overly sweet)!

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 orange slices

  • ½ cup cranberries

  • 1 star anise pods

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice

  • ½ cup unsweetened cranberry juice

  • 1½ oz brandy

  • 1 oz allspice dram

  • 1 bottle of your favorite red wine

  • Soda water to serve (optional)*

  • Rosemary sprig to serve*

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients into a large pitcher and stir. Let the sangria sit in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 24 hours to let all of the flavors soak up! I usually let mine sit for about 4 hours.

  2. To serve, pour a wine glass (ice optional if chilled) to about half way with sangria.

  3. Top with soda water and garnish with the fruits from the sangria in addition to a rosemary sprig.
