Grapefruit Bourbon Sour

This is your sign to use the single grapefruit that’s been sitting in your fridge. It’s waiting for it’s big break — and this is it. There’s something about a pungent bourbon sour when the weather begins to feel warm again.

Ingredients:

  • ½ oz simple syrup

  • 1½ oz grapefruit juice

  • ½ oz lemon juice

  • 2 oz bourbon

  • 1 egg white

  • grapefruit soda

  • garnish: dehydrated grapefruit slice

Directions:

  1. Combine simple syrup, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and bourbon into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously for approximately thirty seconds, until chilled.

  2. Strain out the ice, add the egg white, and shake again.

  3. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

  4. Top with grapefruit soda.

  5. Garnish with a dehydrated grapefruit slice.
