The Gibson

glassware: thrifted coupe

Since we’re going back to the basics, I thought I’d walk through the recipe for one of our household favorites: the Gibson (dirty). The Gibson is for all of those who have more of a savory than sweet-tooth, so if you’re one to love traditional dirty martinis (think bleu-cheesed stuffed olives, YUM!), this classic cocktail is right up your alley. And hey, I love a drink with a snack.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ oz dry vermouth

  • ¼ oz pickled onion juice (a little goes a long way)

  • 2 oz gin

  • garnish: crack of black pepper + 1-3 picked cocktail onions

Directions:

Add all ingredients into a cocktail mixing glass. Add ice and stir for at least thirty seconds. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a crack of black pepper, along with 1-3 pickled cocktail onions.
