The Floradora

The Floradora is a recipe that you can use delicious raspberry syrup with! The Floradora has a long history that actually dates back to the early 1900s — inspired by Broadway show called Florodora (opened in London in 1899 and American Broadway in 1900) because it starred girls wearing frilly pink dresses.

Ingredients:

  • ½ oz raspberry syrup

  • ½ oz lime juice

  • 2 oz gin

  • rose water

  • top with ginger ale (or ginger beer!)

  • garnish: a cute flower

Directions:

Combine raspberry syrup, lime juice, and gin to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled. Spritz a chilled glass with rose water and strain cocktail into glass over fresh ice. Top with ginger ale and garnish with a flower.

RASPBERRY SYRUP

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • 1½ cup raspberries

Directions:

Combine sugar, water, and raspberries together in a medium sauce pot and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to low for approximately 15 minutes, or until raspberries have broken up. Let cool completely and strain out the solids (you can reserve the pulp for pancakes, fruit leather, yogurt bowls, etc!). Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about two weeks!
