Corpse Reviver No. 2

GLASSWARE: THRIFTED COUPE GLASS

While there are countless variations of the Corpse Reviver cocktail, “No. 2” is the most well-known of them all. The earliest mention of this cocktail dates all the way back to 1871, and was given its name indicating that it was strong enough to bring a body back from the grave… Historically, it was meant to be drank as a hangover cure as a “hair of the dog” type of drink.

Ingredients:

  • ¾ oz lemon juice

  • ¾ oz dry vermouth (Lillet Blanc is most common!)

  • ¾ oz orange liqueur

  • ¾ oz gin

  • garnish: orange twist

Directions:

  1. Place a coupe glass in the freezer while you build your cocktail.

  2. Combine lemon juice, dry vermouth, orange liqueur, and gin into your cocktail shaker along with ice and shake until chilled.

  3. Double strain into the chilled coupe glass.

  4. Garnish with an orange twist (don’t forget to twist and express the oils!).
