Maraschino Martini

I am a sucker for anything made by Luxardo, so I wanted to combine their two ingredients their most well-known for: Maraschino Originale and Original Maraschino Cherries. I definitely wouldn’t sub these brandied cherries out for the artificial ones, because once you have a taste of these, you’ll seriously never go back. Try putting them on your next ice cream sundae — thank me later.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz dry vermouth

  • ½ oz maraschino liqueur

  • 1½ oz gin

  • brandied cherry syrup*

  • absinthe*

  • garnish: brandied cherry

Directions:

Rinse a chilled coupe glass with absinthe and set aside. In a cocktail mixing glass, combine vermouth, maraschino liqueur, gin, and a bar spoon of brandied cherry syrup. Add ice and stir for at least thirty seconds to reach proper dilution. Strain into absinthe-rinsed coupe glass and garnish with a single brandied cherry.
